Ready for some fresh live jazz in and around Rochester, NY?  Each week, these posts gather the listings for live jazz to hear around Rochester for the next seven days immediately below. After the "fold" (a link at the end of this week's listings) you'll find live jazz through the rest of September and October (plus some items of special interest beyond that….). 

As I noted in last week's post, I'm currently preparing to move JazzRochester to another platform as the one it is currently published on, Typepad, has just announced it it closing down at the end of the month.  With almost 18 years in and nearly 1900 posts, this is quite a job.  You'll be seeing a few changes to the site as I prepare. The first is that I've moved all but the current post to a new "Listings Archive" category. The posts remaining in the "Jazz Around Town" mostly relate to jazz artists from out of town who have appeared around ROC or jazz series like the now gone Exodus to Jazz. I feel like I want to keep these as they are sort of a historical record of who, both local and from out of town, have played here in and Rochester for nearly 20 years.  I'm going to keep them for now for that purpose. Stay tuned . . .
