I thought about announcing something like “this is the last post” in light of the date this will be published, but this is serious business . . . really! It is, however the start of Jazz Appreciation Month, as designated by the Smithsonian Museum. To learn more, click on the link on the logo at the top of the right column.
Each week JazzRochester gathers the listings for live jazz to hear around Rochester for the next seven days, which are immediately below. Open the rest of the post at the end of this week’s listings (if you’re receiving via the email list you will see them all) and you’ll find live jazz we have heard about through the rest of April and May, plus some items of special interest beyond that. Check back from time to time as I will update the post throughout the week as I hear about new live jazz gigs around town until the next post is published. Tell your jazz-loving friends about the site so they can join us here or on our other channels.
The Rochester International Jazz Festival announced that that the 2026 RIJF app, sponsored by Harris Beach, is now available on the Apple and Google App Stores. As you’ll only have your phone during the festival, I suggest you download it as it is a great resource during the RIJF.
